Københavnerruten runs from Øresund station on cycle paths on the old Amagerbane and along Uplandsgade and Vermlandsgade on to Christmas Møllers Plads. From here the route continues on Langebro and H.C. Andersens Boulevard to the City Hall Square.

The Københavnerruten is a ring route running south of the moats of Christianshavn in Copenhagen Municipality that connects eastern Amager with inner city Copenhagen. The route makes up a good cycling connection between Amager Beachpark, through Kløvermarken and to Rådhuspladsen. The route additionally passes business areas alongside Amager Boulevard and H.C. Andersens Boulevard.
