The route follows a bidirectional shared-use path in its own course from Gammel Køge Landevej, where the Ishøjruten also runs, by Vestvolden parralel to the Amager motorway over Kalvebodbroerne and further north on the dam along Kalveboderne until the route meets Indre Ringrute near Vejlands Allé and Slusen.
